the-black-swan captures a wonderful urbex piece that has a subtle HDR effect. The brilliant angle of Villa Grammaire produces a fascinating, unique perspective of a building with an intriguing interior design. (
As a painter and illustrator, I often am not able to understand photography as an art form. I like pictures of my kids, and sunsets ... but that's usually about it. So keep that in mind when you read this critique.
This image struck my eye, and the first thing I wondered was whether it was actually a photograph or not. I enjoyed this sensation, and it made me want to look closer.
It is photographed in such a way as to appear like an abstract painting or 3D art, because it does not initially correspond to any recognizable interior. Before I looked closely, I thought it might be the airlock of some kind of spaceship.
When I realized what was happening, and that the camera was aiming up, I appreciated the cleverness of the photographer, and it expanded my understanding of photography as an art form, so mission accomplished!
The only thing I think that might improve it would be to increase the contrast a bit ... but again, I am not an expert.
this is absolutely gorgeous! i love how my eyes are drawn to the center and my gaze just kind of coasts around the rest of the image in the direction of the staircase. congrats on the well-deserved dd!
